✦ WE CANNOT EMPHASISE ENOUGH HOW CRUCIAL IT IS THAT YOU TEST YOUR TENS BEFORE THE ONSET OF LABOUR.

A Labour TENS Machine has the potential to achieve your desired birthing experience. Ensuring that it is functioning correctly is your responsibility. 

Check that all contents of the hire package are included (items are listed on our website and on the card inside your package), operating precisely and that you learn how to use the device which are explained in the instruction manual (see below). Please inform us if you encounter any problems immediately so that we can resolve the issue.

Prior to shipment, our team have thoroughly cleaned all items with hospital grade sanitisers. Our team have tried and tested each pack (except your brand new electrodes and batteries) so they will be supplied to you in working order. 

In rare occasions, the TENS itself or one of the items may not work when you test it at home. Whether it is due to the device being damaged during transportation to you, or the electrodes or batteries may be faulty.

✦ The Elle TENS unit must only be used according to its standard operating instructions which are supplied with your hire or can be viewed below:

✦ We do not take responsibility for the success of the TENS machine in labour, as its effect varies for each individual and their unique circumstances.

✦ You must not use a TENS machine:

• Prior to 37 weeks of Pregnancy (unless you have consulted with your midwife, doctor or health professional).
• Over your abdomen.
• If you have a cardiac pacemaker or a heart rhythm problem.
• If you have broken skin or a healing scar where you want to place the pads.
• Over a new caesarean section wound.
• When you’re in the shower, bath, or birth pool.

✦ There are circumstances where there may be unexpected postal delays, which unfortunately are out of our control. Refunds are not applicable for machines that do not arrive before your hire date. If you are already 36+ weeks pregnant or it is an expected busy time of year (e.g. Christmas, Easter, Black Friday sales) we emphasise that you select express shipping to avoid a late arrival of your shipment.

✦ You agree to return your TENS machine and all accessories to us in the same condition it was received in. NOTE: You are welcome to dispose of used electrodes and paperwork. We understand that items may go missing, you will only be charged if the machine and leads are not returned to us or are damaged.

✦ Your TENS Hire package will come with a return label that is adhered to a postage satchel for ease of return. Please lodge your return at an Australia Postal outlet (not via a red postal box) and keep your lodgement receipt in case of any issues.

✦ If for any reason you are unable to return the TENS unit by the last day of the hire period you can EXTEND YOUR HIRE HERE.

One week prior to your return you will receive an email reminder that your hire is almost finished. If we do not receive your TENS when it is due to be returned we will do the following:

• Contact you via email and/or text message. If we do not receive a response we will call you. If we are unable to make contact with you we will issue an invoice for an unreturned machine.
  
  
• The cost of an unreturned TENS Machine is $160.00. If this is not paid within the specified time frame on the invoice, and if you have failed to make contact with us, we will follow up with our debt collection agency.

By proceeding with the MAMA&ICO. Hire Agreement you acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
